In my work, I pull from an unconventional upbringing and compare it to the lives of my friends, neighbors, and community– what we have in common, and where our stories differ. Within these narratives, I explore childhood, masculinity, loneliness, and generational legacy. My work stems from my desire to find the familiar in situations I or the audience have never been in before. The scenes may change but there’s a comfort in knowing we’re never alone in our desires, needs, and emotions.
